| Sébastien Pierre-Roy joined the team at Chenette, Litigation Boutique Inc. in October 2011. Member of the Bar since 2001, Mr. Pierre-Roy first practised with the Litigation Group at McCarthy Tétrault, where he became a partner in 2007. Mr. Pierre‑Roy then joined the firm of Heenan Blaikie, where he practised for three years.
During his years of practice, Mr. Pierre-Roy has focused on litigation, in general, a major part of his practice being devoted to representing professionals, and businesses facing their insurance company. He pleads regularly before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal, as well as before disciplinary bodies.
Mr. Pierre-Roy has a broad knowledge of the insurance products available to businesses and their directors and is able not only to give advice when coverage problems arise but also to assist in the review of a company’s portfolio and its subscription to new products.
In addition to defending professionals whose civil liability is summoned before the courts, Mr. Pierre-Roy assists professionals being investigated by the syndic of their particular order, or subject of a complaint before the Disciplinary Council.
Mr. Pierre-Roy also practises various other types of litigation, more particularly in matters of construction and high technology.
Mr. Pierre-Roy completed his Bachelor of Law degree in 1999 at the Université de Montréal.
